The i3+ EVO is similar to its sibling i3 EVO. They differ only in the fact that the i3+ has self-emptying capabilities. This makes the i3+ a great option for those looking for an automated, hands-free cleaning experience, but aren't afraid of having to empty their dust bin manually when it fills up.
Both robots do well picking up surface debris off carpets and hard floors, and they're very adept in maneuvering around furniture and other obstacles. iAdapt navigation software creates a smart maps of your home that aid the i3+ in its navigation and clean up efficiently. The i3+ doesn't feature obstacle avoidance features like the i7+ or any other top-rated robots we tested. It could be stuck on power cords and socks and have difficulty navigating between surfaces, such as hardwood and rug.
iRobot recommends that you tidy up the area where the i3+ EVO vacuums before using it. This includes putting away any toys or clutter it may encounter. It's also a good idea to keep the dust bin and filter clear so they do not become blocked by dirt. When the i3+'s internal bin is full or its battery is empty, it returns to its docking station, automatically empties its debris into the station's dust bin and then resumes cleaning where it started. The i3+ EVO's battery lasts for about an hour and a half continuous use, and it takes about three hours to recharge.
2. iRobot Roomba i7+
The iRobot Roomba i7+ is the most powerful model in iRobot's flagship line, and it comes with all the latest features. It's self-charging and self-navigating. the most important feature of all -- it has self-emptying bins that eliminate one of the most important sources of maintenance for any robot vacuum.
The Roomba I7+ can map rooms more efficiently with Imprint Smart Mapping. It also works with the iRobot Home app to let you schedule cleaning tasks and control your robot using voice or via the app.
In our tests the i7+ performed quicker and more maneuverable than our runner-up, the eufy RoboVac G30, and it picked up large pieces of pet hair from all surfaces kinds including carpeting. The biggest advantage over the Eufy is its self-emptying garbage bin which eliminates the main sources of maintenance and lowers the cost of recurring maintenance.
We were also impressed with the i7+’s compatibility with Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant AI services. We used these services to instruct the robot to start or stop cleaning sessions and also to move around the room, and even vacuum a specific area. The iRobot Home App made it easy to connect the i7+ with these services. We were able, once connected, to give voice commands to the i7+ like "Hey Alexa vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home app also provides options for managing the i7+'s settings and monitoring its performance.
3. Dyson Cyclone V10
In a world full of vacuums that are cordless and feel like minivans or buses, this tiny Dyson model is a sports car. It is powerful enough to replace a traditional stand-up vacuum in the majority of homes, but also small enough to fit on a bookcase or coffee table.
The V10 is powered by a 7-cell, high-energy lithium-ion battery that can provide continuous, non-fading power for 60 minutes. The sophisticated whole-machine filter system is able to trap allergens and then lets cleaner air into your home. Its specialized cleaning head drives bristles made of nylon that are stiff into carpet to collect large dust and crumbs. It comes with three suction modes that can be adapted to the specific task. It is able to swiftly switch from handheld to floor vacuum and vice versa.
This model also has an accessory dock that can charge to 100% in around 3.5 hours and offers easy access to two attachments as well as the Wand clip. This is a significant improvement over older Dysons that require a lengthy charge and are difficult to store.
