However unlike the i7+ or other top-rated robots we test, the i3+ doesn't have obstacle-avoidance capabilities, so it may get stuck on things such as power cords or socks, and it may have trouble traversing transitions across surfaces like from hardwood to rug.
iRobot recommends you clear out areas that the i3+ EVO will vacuum prior to when you use it, including putting away any toys or clutter it may encounter. It's also an excellent idea to keep the dustbin and filter clear so they aren't clogged by dirt. When the i3+'s internal bin is full or the battery is empty it goes back to its docking station, automatically emptying its dirt into the station's dust bin and then resumes cleaning the area where it began. The battery's life span is approximately an hour and a half of continuous usage. It takes about three hours to charge.
2. Roomba by iRobot
The iRobot i7+ is the top model in iRobot's flagship line and is packed with the latest technology. It is self-charging and self-navigating, but the most significant feature is its self-emptying bin. This removes the need for regular maintenance.
The Roomba I7+ can make rooms more efficient maps using Imprint Smart Mapping. It also works with the iRobot Home app to let you schedule cleaning jobs and direct your robot by voice or through the app.
In our tests, the i7+ was more agile and faster than our top choice, the eufy RoboVac G30, and it picked up large pieces of pet hair from all surfaces types, including carpeting. The main advantage it has over the Eufy is the self-emptying bin which eliminates major sources of maintenance and lowers the cost of recurring maintenance.
We were also awestruck by the i7+'s compatibility with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant AI services, which we used to instruct the robot to start, stop or pause its cleaning sessions and to move around the room and sweep a specific space. The iRobot Home App made it easy to connect the i7+ with these services. Once connected to these services, we were able give the i7+ voice commands such as "Hey Alexa, vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home app also provides options to manage the i7+'s preferences and monitoring its performance.
3. Dyson Cyclone V10
In a world filled with cordless vacs that are like minivans and buses, this tiny Dyson model feels like a sports car. It's powerful enough to replace a stand-up vacuum in most homes, but also small enough to fit on the bookcase or coffee table.
The V10 is powered with a 7-cell energy-dense Lithium-ion battery that can provide energy that lasts for 60 minutes. Its advanced whole-machine filter system removes allergens, and then releases clean air back into your home. Its specialized head uses stiff nylon bristles to penetrate into carpets and pick up large crumbs or fine dust. It comes with three suction settings to meet the task being performed. It can quickly switch from handheld to floor vacuum, and vice versa.

The main issue with the V10 is its short running time. As CR's tests have shown, its advertising claims of up to 60 minutes are misleading. It was able to remove all kinds of debris and sizes during our tests and would often go over the same area several times to ensure an efficient clean. Its flat front end helps to get into corners and along the walls' edges which is a nice addition.
Its intelligent navigation system makes use of iAdapt technology to stay clear of obstacles and navigate your home. It's not equipped with the ability to map that is found in more advanced models, such as our top picks, i3+EVO and J7+ Series. This means that it is sometimes stuck on things like phone cords or low furniture, and it often runs out of battery power before returning to its original location.
